Hiya, I've just given my boys their first readigrass. They just about bit my hand off. They loved it. Is this okay to give then everyday with their hay or is it classed as a treat? Hope all you clever people can help. I know I keep asking loads of questions but I would rather bother you with loads of questions than do any harm to my boys.

Mine have a small handful of readigrass mixed in with small amount of pellets Twice a day. Mine absolutely adore it. I give them less when theyv been out on the grass or when there having veggies :)

Hiya, ive had it on good authourity from several members on the forum that you can give this daily alongside hay.:)
Or even on its own if you cant feed hay for any good reason eg I have to feed my piggies this as husband is allergic to hay.
Hope this helps
Emma

Yummy ready grass

Hello
My piggies love this too and its been a life saver whilst they are not on the lawn...no mizzy chops from lack of grazing.Infact i sprinkle it in their indoor run and they happily forage around eating it up.
I have 14 cavies and my bale is still going strong after 8 weeks.
Mine have a scoop every morning plus fresh hay.

The only thing I will say is that, if the pigs are not used to eating grass or such rich dried grasses (i.e. Readigrass, Just Grass etc.) then break them in gently. Increase the amount you feed over the period of a few days. It can upset the digestion and lead to soft poops if they eat too much too quickly!
