Hi everyone

I had my boy Angel neutered on Wednesday last week, all went well but he is taking a while to get back to his normal self, he is eating only a small amount of veg and being very fussy! He is kept indoors anyway but he just hides in his house and very rarely comes out. It seems like he is sulking! Is this normal? Please help as he is normally very active and lively pop corning all over the place but he seems so sad. I'm devastated that I've put him through it! :'(

Thanks for any advice.

Awww just give him time, try offering him different veggies. After my sow had an op she would onlyhave grass for a few days so try picking some grass for him.
If your worried tho get him checked out. xxxxx

He is probably just recovering. Luckily he is indoors and you can keep a close eye on him. Don't feel bad about it - you obviously thought it necessary at the time and weren't to know he'd react this way. Try giving him some of his fave foods and treats.

Keeping fingers crossed O0 ;)

Good luck with little Angel :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
awwwww poor little guy he's obviously still a bit sore and sorry for himself :( :( :(

Good News!

When I got in from work last night I gave him a cuddle and lots of fuss, hand fed him some parsley which he tucked into and also introduced him to Buffy (he's soon to be girlfriend!) :smitten: :smitten: and WOW he's back to his normal self, he just needed time to recover but it was very worrying.

Thanks for the advice

welcome to the forums from us in oz :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: are you sure it was recovery time he needed or that he was lonely and buffy perked him up? ;D ;D ;D
am so happy for you that angel is doing much better. the girls and i said hugs :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: the girls send :-* :-* :-*

I would imagine he was just in a sulk and needed some time to recover.

I had a Buffy and an Angel but both sows. I am glad there is another fan! I have also had...
Anya, Faith, Cordelia, Darla, Drusilla, Wesley, Lorne, Doyle, Willow, Connor, Spike, Gunn, Xander, Jasmin, Glory, Skip, Lilah, Sahjhan, Dawn, Harmony, Kate, Eve and Illyria. You can see I went for more the Angel people than Buffy, lol!

Angel is now back to his normal self, I have put Buffy's and Angels cages next to each other and they both seem very excited and keep kissing through the bars! :smitten: :smitten:

lol yep I'm a Buffy fan! I have two boys Angel and Spike (who is just like Spike! can be lovely one minute and the next a right little whatsit! >:D) and two girls Faith and Buffy. I also adopted a piggy and bunny from the old owners of our house who didn't want them anymore and they were housed together! :tickedoff:

The piggy is called Charles but we call him Charlie and the bunny who was called Sullivan until I had a look underneath and he is now a she and called Sally!

That's my little family and thanks for welcoming us! This is a great forum. :) I'll get some pics posted up soon

Angel has had a set back :'( He has diarrhoea now, I took him to the vets last night and they've given me some "good" bacteria powder to put in his water and force feed him (he wasn't happy about that!). They didn't want to give him another antibiotic jab as he has had one already and thinks this is what's upsetting his tummy.
The vet said if he hasn't improved by tomorrow to take him straight back :'(

Fingers crossed for my little man :smitten: :smitten: I've posted a pic on the galley of him before he was poorly. :smitten:

try cutting his veg right back, just feed him hay and grass for a few days and his dry food. this will settle his tummy down and syringe him some water so he doesn't get dehydrated. you can syringe some mashed pellets mix in preboiled water with baby food puree- 1-2 teaspoons in it but if he is eating would leave him with the hay and grass. good luck O0 sending you and angel hugs and healing vibes :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Angel update, he seems much better and is now eating and drinking on his own, he has put on some more weight, so fingers crossed he is on the mend :) :smitten:

glad he is feeling better :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: hoping the runs have gone and he is getting back to his normal self O0 sending hugs and healing vibes to you and dear angel :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
