Red/Black eyes ...

Does anyone have guineas who have red/black eyes. Betty has the most gorgeous coloured eyes, I can only compare them to the colour of undiluted Ribena.

I've never seen it before in all my years of owning guineas ... is it common?

I wish I could get a picture but the combination of her being skittish and not managing to get the right settings on my camera to capture the colour is making it difficult!

My guinea pigs eyes look black but a lot of the time they also look like they have purple or red in them. When I got him the past owner also mentioned they thought he had blue eyes.

I'm still trying to figure out the colour.

I dont have any with that coloured eyes, but my Panda-bear has light grey eyes (so unusual!) and Chip has greeny coloured eyes.

The dark purple sounds so cute though! x)

My first piggy, Fred, had sort of purplish eyes. It was very lovely with silver agouti hair color x)

My toffee has pinky/red eyes, they are gorgeous but they kind of clash with her ginger fur, lol.

what colour is she?

chocolate piggies have ruby eyes, as do roans. whilst lilac, beige and argente have pink eyes, which can vary in shade from really really pink, to almost ruby.

River has dark ruby coloured eyes - very pretty. And Ace's a darker still, and they are both black AND ruby - she's an interesting piggy! Freddie has dark red eyes, but they've not got the purplish tint to them (like ribena). Nelson has pale pink eyes And Amy has black eyes, as do Glinda and Elphie

Oh, and colours/types:
Freddie - Ginger, white crest. Dark red eyes.
Nelson - 'roan strawberry' according to a book. Pale pink eyes.
River - white and grey agouti-ish, ruby eyes
Ace - white, light ginger and dark brown, dark ruby eyes (and black)
Amy - ginger, brown agouti-ish, white and dark brown, black eyes
Elphie - ginger (and white) abyssinian, black eyes
Glinda - very light ginger and white sheltie, black eyes

I don't think those are quite accurate, we're not one for breed types. I'll post pigtures!

Amy. Her eyes look brownish close up, but they're very dark. They might be considered black.

River. I don't think you can see it very well, but she has ruby eyes

Freddie's red eyes

Glinda. Black eyes.

This photo really doesn't show just how pale his eyes really are. Nelson has VERY pale pink eyes.
