Weeze315
New Born Pup
Hi all, we're new to having Guinea pigs and have 2 16 week old males. Peter & Ginger Biscuit.
Each day I restock their hay but I'm not entirely sure if I need to bin all of it...? In their sleeping quarters they eat some of it and spread the rest across the base (I'm assuming) to sleep on. When I do a poo & wee pick each day I'm unsure if they'd be content with keeping this layer & having a couple of new piles of fresh hay as well, or remove the whole lot each day. They also barely touch the hay in their trough so most of this gets thrown each day. Does this sound normal?
They have nuggets twice daily as well, sometimes they finish them all sometimes there's lots left.
We've started giving them kale around tea time which measures roughly 40g, & a few sticks of red bell pepper.
Occasionally they'll wheek for something when I come in the room but I can see they've got enough & not sure whether giving them more when they do this is a bad habit to start?
Thanks for any tips in advance!
