I'm typing this through the tears but we've lost our beloved Scampy.

He was fine yesterday but this morning when we went to give him his food he had really bad diarrhoea - see Julie's thread below:

http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=11103.0

At approximately 5:30 he passed over to the rainbow bridge whilst the vet was trying to treat him, at least Julie, me and Blaze (his dad) got to say goodbye to him before the vet took him. He's the first of our piggies to go to the bridge :'(

Rest In Peace little man, we love you and miss you

xx

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a gorgeous piggy :smitten: You did all you could for him and he knows that.

I'm sure he's on his way to the bridge to make lots of great new piggy friends :smitten:

RIP Scampy xx You will be missed sooo much :(

So sorry you lost him. RIP Scampy, run free at the bridge little one :'( :'( 0:)

He was so gorgeous :smitten:

Sorry to bump my own thread, we didn't have a lot of pictures of him (he would never sit still for the camera) but I just found this one I didn't relaise we had:

I am so sorry for your loss.

Scampy was a very lucky pig to have found you to live out his days with.

RIP Little One.

oooh no. I'm really sorry. :'(

What a lovely piggy he was (love the one pink ear, one black ear :smitten: ) he was gorgeous. You must be devestated - but at least he slipped away quickly and wasnt a long drawn out illness (Know this probably doesnt make you feel much better). Better to have loved him then lost him,... than never have had him at all in your life. ;)

bless your little heart Scampy angel 0:) have fun at rainbow bridge

Thanks everyone. I know many people think 'it's just a guinea pig' but we have bonds with these little wee chaps and love them to bits. We're glad everyone on here understands!

Julie and Marty

I'm so sorry Scampy didn't make it. I'm so very sorry for your loss :( You did all you could for him, sometimes even though you do all you can (as you and Julie did) the little ones just don't make it. I know exactly how you feel having gone through exactly the same last week. I am thinking of you both. Scampy was a very handsome little chap, I am sure he went knowing how much you loved him and that you were doing all you could.

PM me if you need to talk any further, I really do sympathise for your loss.

Emily x

Thank Emily, I'm just so glad that both Julie and I, and probably more importantly Blaze his Dad was with him almost to the end.

He fell out with Blaze several months ago and we had to separate them but he still needed to be next to him, even if it was separated via a couple of grids.

Near the end he snuggled up with Blaze, I'm sure he knew how bad he was, and I like to think that they made up :)

We're so very sad to read about your little man Scampy :'( :'( :'(
RIP Scampy run free at the bridge :'( :'( :'(
Hugs for you all and piggie kisses to help comfort you all xxxxxxxxxxx

I am so sorry for your loss :'(

The bridge has another beautiful 0:)

Sleep in peace Scampy, you are sadly missed :-*

I love that pic too, he was definitely a character and we will miss him immensely. :'(

I can't believe how comforting it is to read all your posts. Thank you so much.

Scampy was my little sweetheart, I was fortunate to have a strong bond with him, I knew it would hurt when we lost one but didn't realise quite how much.

Scampy love you lots my little baby boy.

xx

Yes love it does hurt, heaps, time heals ever sooo slowly but the memory never ever fades. You'll get to appreciate this, i have beautiful memories of our little man Sully (RIP) it's a little easier now but it still hurts but now it's a different hurt it's one that i feel more comfortable with knowing that he's at peace. I hope this helps just a little with your grief.
Take care thinking of you all :smitten: :smitten:

Julie and Marty, I'm really sorry to hear Scampy has gone to the bridge :'(

Run free handsome fella x
