My 1st hamster hammie I made a topic about him a few weeks ago.

Sadly he had to be put to sleep as he seemed to be in pain. And his belly looked sore and red.

Took him to the emergency vets and they said his belly skin had begun rotting away and his guts where exposed abit.

Sad I didnt notice it sooner. But he looked alright.
They can go down hill very quickly.

I'm glad he had 2 years with us and is no longer in pain.

RIP hammie

Also wernt allowed to be with him at the end. Stupid covid crap :(

At 2 years old hammie was quite an elderly hamster. It sounds like you did the kindest thing for him in letting him go. My hamster, Smokey, died a couple of months ago, so I know first hand how a tiny creature can leave a huge hole in your heart.
Play well at the bridge, little hammie.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :( We have hamsters too and the toughest thing about them is that they have so much personality but such a short lifespan. At two we lived to a good age... I'm sorry you couldn't be with him at the end. ((HUGS)) to you!
