I got my little Scampers 4 years ago along with another older gp (Ginger). At the moment ginger is quite old and, a month ago I was looking for single elderly guinea pigs for scamper when ginger passed away.

Then about four weeks back things started to go downhill. Scampers had diarrhea. We didn't think much of it because I knew it wasn't uncommon in guinea pigs but then a few days later my mum messages me saying that scampers wasn't looking great and that she had taken her to the vet. She got home shortly after me and we gave we the various medicines the vet had prescribed. Scampers are all of them without complaint and then we put her back in her box. At this point she was barely moving at all. We were going away that night for the weekend but I couldn't leave the guinea pigs behind so instead we took them with us. We went to bed that night. In the morning I saw scampers and thought she was sleeping so I let her be. Then about half an hour later my mum comes in and she says to me "Milena I'm really sorry but I don't think Scampers is sleeping." We very gentle lift her out the area she's in and put her in a box. We where celebrating a late Christmas with the family and all through lunch I'm trying so hard not to cry.

I miss you so much my Scampers rip with all the other rainbow bridge piggies ♥️♥️

If anyone has any suggestions or things you can do to reduce the grief it would be greatly appreciated
You will be forever in my heart my Scampers ♥️♥️

So sorry for your loss.

Grief takes time and the rawness will lessen.
We grieve when we love and Scampers‘ life was filled with love.

Maybe try making a memory book which will help you focus on the happy memories.

Be gentle with yourself and allow yourself time to grieve.

Holding you in my heart ♥️

Sorry for your loss. Scampers was clearly a very much loved guinea pig. Sleep tight Scampers x
