I am not sure what happened. You were my healthy happy boy. You were only 2 1/2 years old. You ripped your bell pepper out of my hand Tuesday. When I came home from work Tuesday night I knew something was wrong. The pepper was there uneaten. You were in the corner with dull eyes. I picked you up and you were cooler than usual and your legs were shaky. I gave pain meds quickly in case something was hurting you. I weighed you, no change. Eyes, nose, and lungs were clear. You were still pooping and the looked normal. I held you for hours giving critical care to Hopefully get you to the vet in the morning. I left you in your cuddle house at 3am to get some sleep. I got up at 630am and you were on your side with your eyes darting back and forth. I knew what was coming unfortunately. I held you as you passed and told you how loved you were. I am sorry I failed you amd missed whatever it was that killed you. Love you Buddy.

Aw I’m so sorry for your loss of Wicket 😞 Please don’t beat yourself up, piggies can sadly die at any age from anything. They hide pain so well and by the time we realise there’s something wrong. It’s often too late.

You did all you could and Wicket knew how much her was loved x

I am so sorry you lost Wicket sending hugs  He was very loved and he will have known that, take care grief is hard x

Popcorn high little man 🌈

BIG HUGS

A sudden death in young piggies is always scary. A cold body temperature generally means that the body has started to close down and that the blood circulation is no longer working properly. Sudden acute heart failure can happen at any age.

I have lost two my two youngest that way; they each passed within 12-24 hours of showing the very first symptoms and were even younger than Wicket. There is nothing you can do; these seemingly healthy piggies live with a genetic bomb that can go off at any time. :( If it is any consolation to you, I did manage to get Ffion as far as the vet but she suddenly keeled over and passed away on the examination table. It left me quite literally shaking, and you must feel the same right now. :(

All you can do is to try to take consolation in that you have given Wicket a happy life during the time he had with you and that you have made his life count. He could make the journey to the Bridge on his own from his familiar surroundings. The natural dying process is much more physical than you'd expect but thankfully he woould have been mostly out of it by then.

Pet ownership is never about length of life but about quality. As long as you provide quality you are never behind on the score card, however long or short a pet life is... What from and when your pets die is always out of your control.

I’m so sorry Wicket has left for the bridge. He had a wonderful life with you. Take care ❤️

I'm so sorry, what a shock for you 😢
At least he passed quickly and peacefully at home where he felt warm, safe and loved.
RIP little Wicket, over the Rainbow Bridge 🌈❤️

I'm so sorry for your loss. 💔😭 I'm sure Wicket felt love till the very end.❤️

Popcorn free Wicket. 🌈 ❤️

So very sorry to read that you have lost Wicket.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve.
Holding you in my heart ♥️

I'm truly sorry for your loss. Losing a furbaby suddenly is both heartbreaking and confusing. I echo the sentiments shared by others here – the quality of time spent and the love given are what truly matter. Remember to take care of yourself during this time, and don't hesitate to reach out for support if you need it. May your little furry angel rest in peace. X

I am sorry you have lost Wicket so suddenly. If it is any consolation, he died in your arms, meaning he was very close to you and would have felt your love right until the end. Please take care of yourself as you grieve - sending hugs x
RIP Wicket 🌈
