I wasn't sure where best place was to post this. Apologies and please move if in the wrong place.

I have some long term goals/ideas in relation to animal care and as part of that (and just to help me care better for my own piggys) have given some thought to doing the BAR course. Was wondering is anyone here has any experience of it, could tell me a little more about?

The RHA (Rodent Health Advisor) course has to be completed first before the G-BAR (the full rodentology). Have you seen the BAR website?

Doing the courses won't give you a recognised qualification...well, not recognised by officials but it goes down well with the majority of guinea owners! And of course you learn stuff that will help you with your own pigs. :)

Thanks Laura. I did have a look and saw about the RHA course. I was wondering how good a prior knowledge you need to have?

I have several ideas and plans but initially I'm hoping to do some boarding of guinea pigs, rabbits and chinchillas next year so thought having the qualification would be useful in addition to helping me with my own pets.

No need for any particular level of knowledge prior, an interest in learning is the main thing. :)
