Hey all! Recently bought my boys some rose hips. I’ve seen mixed reviews on their sugar content so I looked it up and there’s apparently about 3.3 grams of sugar per cup. Of course I wouldn’t be giving them anything close to a cup of rose hips. Was wondering if someone could help me figure out a good amount to give them and how often. I’m very very bad at all this math stuff and will be honest, I don’t even know if 3.3 grams is a lot for a cup. I have two boys weighing at 1077grams each (not sure if that’s relevant). Thanks a lot :)

Rose hips aren’t something I’ve fed to mine but as the fruit of the plant it stands to reason they may be high sugar. Along those lines, id say that one or two rose hips once a week is probably enough (as with all fruit and high sugar items), but @Guineautopia has a forage business so may well be able to advise further, or @teddymouse

I give as a rare treat, like 2-3 times during the winter months, as their high sugar levels and mine are outside piggies.
