I tried introducing them in the run for the first time today. I thought I'd put them in the run and gradually build up the time I keep them together for, so today they were together for about 20 minutes. They clicked their teeth at each other quite a lot to begin with but after a few minutes they stopped, and I put a pile of grass in and they started eating together :) They even sat quite close to each other without clicking their teeth or anything! I really hope this works because Barry is so lonely, he just sits around in his hutch and run because he gets so bored.

Here are the photos (please excuse the lack of grass in the run - my guinea-pigs are massive lawnmowers, they're run is getting moved to more grass tommorow)

Then they sat right next to each other, happily eating away and not arguing or anything! They will be staying seperate tonight, and tommorow I'm going to bath them and clean out and disenfect Barry's hutch and then they'll hopefully move in together then, if all goes well.

That all looks pretty hopeful, some teeth chattering is par for the course really. Very best of luck for tomorrow. Lovely piggies!

Glad they are off to a good start. They are both gorgeous!

It would be better if you had them side by side for a time to get to know each other if you want to do slow introductions; that way they can interact through the bars/mesh without your risking any fights and you can judge how they are likely to get on that way.

Boars always have to start right back in square every time you separate them and won't be able to progress with their relationship if they are not being kept together. Guinea pigs have actually a kind of protocol which they follow through.

They've been side by side for months and got along fine.

That sounds promising, :) I hope they make good friends

They're both really handsome too!
