Hi all,

Does anyone know if piggies can eat runner beans?
I've has a nosey in the stickies but can't see anything and an internet search has given very mixed information.

My girls love the regular 'fine' beans and I wondered if the bigger runner beans would be okay too?

Thanks x

My piggies adore runner beans which we grow through the summer. However they love the leaves and pods and stalks but tend to leave the actual small beans from inside the pod They have never had any ill effects from them at all,and they are so easy and fast to grow even in a big pot with a cane "wigwam" for support. We grow ours along a 2metre by 12 metre fence, and pick the leaves and pods as they grow.

Mine love runner beans, also the outside peelings when I cook them for ourselves.

Leaves, though, I have never tried them with as I am not sure if they are ok.

Sorry to hijack this thread , but I am very near you - Great Eccleston area. Can you get in touch if you know a good GP vet? Thanks!

I haven't been here long enough to PM anyone - or receive them I think.
