Dillon has very runny poo. He had an x-ray last week for bladder stones which came back clear & urine testing which came back as calcium carbonate crystals. I've not given him any harringtons optimum since then & I've had to take him off the zithromax on Monday as it was affecting his appetite. He now has very runny poo. I've given him some fibreplex and I'll give him some dentinox but is there anything else I can do?

Wet poo or diarrhea? Diarrhea is an emergency and will need the vets ASAP.

If it is wet poo, then try and get Dilon to eat lots of hay, timothy is always good to tempt them into hay eating, Fibreplex is excellent and will help also.

Wet poo. His wifepig Rose has developed it in the last half an hour too. They are both eating hay and had some timothy this afternoon. I'm goin to give them back their harringtons as that is the only common thread between them. Strange really how they both have it

That does sound strange, keep a close eye on both if it gets worse then please consult your vet asap. Love to Rosie and Dillon

Thank you. I'm off to Northampton in the morning with Daisy for her 3 weekly dental so I'll ask Simon what he thinks. My vet has been speaking to him about Amber who had an abscess on her bowels so I can feed back his comments to Helen

We didn't see Simon and Daisy managed to put all thoughts of asking Kim out of my head (her teeth were worse after getting better the last couple of times and Kim is talking about a GA to file the very back tree stumpy tooth). Rose developed bloat last night so we took her to the Sunday only vet (P@H) and picked up some Emeprid and Ranitidine. Thankfully all the massage seems to be working and Rosie is looking more normal instead of a pregnant balloon piglet. I've seen her eat her own poo a couple of times since we got back but I'd like a few more to be coming out of her so she is going to have to eat a lot of syringe food. Dill is munching hay now although we have been syringe feeding him my own blend of supportive food (50% ground timothy hay, 25% VetCare MultiModal and the remaining 25% is a mixture of Science Selective, Harringtons's Optimum and Burgess Oregano & Blackcurrant) with Protexin probiotic powder mixed in. His poo's are still a little soft but there are normal ones coming out too. I've done them a deal - if they get better, I'll take them visiting to Cavy Corner so Rose can see her first hooman family and Dill can claim all the kisses he likes :D

So pleased Rosie, is okay, sounds like you got on top of it very quickly. Lots of healing vibes to all your piggies x

Glad that the meds worked for poor Rosie! All the best for her. Please be aware that a bloated piggy will often have a very iffy digestion for a few weeks, so be careful when re-introducing veg.

Funnily enough they were both asking me for breakfast veggies this morning! Is it ok to give them grass? If not how long should I wait? I've never had a pig with bloated before so this is all a learning experience for me (and Rosie)
