I fear I will get a reputation amoung the piggies for being the 'castration lady and operation place' lol but Rupert and Giles arrived yesterday and are settling in well. Rupert is acting as if nothing happened a wonderfully sweet guinea pig who is muchin grass Giles is a bit more skitty but settling nicely and both ate breakfast well.

They are booked in tomorrow morning at 9am to go for their operations
Giles is being neutered and Rupert is having his eye fixed and being neutered.
Poor boy will be attacked at both ends but as the neutering is very straigt forward and all the guineas done so far have recovered very rapidly it was thought best to do both at the same time.

I will keep you updated on their progress and pass on any well wishes to them :)

I will be thinking of them tomorrow! Best luck!

Good luck Giles

Oh dear. All this is my fault ;). Just think about the six girlies waiting for your company x)

Aw I was reading about Giles on your website before, think it says you were wondering if he'd be a lone boar because he didn't get on with boars? I was just picturing him in my room :)) had to get that idea out of my head quickly! Glad he'll be getting a lady friend! Good luck to both boys tomorrow, will be thinking of them x

Yes, he and Rupert were together but when Rupert hit 6 months they had a fall out and wouldn't go back together - tried everything! I was worried that they would fall out anyway if Rupert had to be separated to go for his op, but before I could work out what to do about it they'd fallen out anyway!

Then Rosielx fell for him.... luckily for him!

No way! You swapped Rupert for a new pig - how could they operate so cleanly? I was expecting swelling or weeping - WOW!

Thank you SO much Vikki, your vets are brill - what an amazing outcome and they both look really perky. I'll update Rupert's original thread with a link to here too!

Thank you!

Rupert looks incredible, it's totally amazing. I'm so glad you've been able to help him like this. Give them both a kiss from me, they've had a tough day, but I have to say, they look pretty good on it. But you'd better fill up that bowl quick-smart!

Just keep coming back to this thread to gaze at him - can't believe he looked like this:

Yes, so do I, bless him - in fact, not that he looked unhappy before, but in his "after" pictures he's smiling, don't you think? Such a happy tale.

Go Rupert - you're going to have the ladies falling at your feet now - what a stunner :)

Glad it went well for Giles too, perhaps now he can settle down with a lady all of his own :)
