Post neuter lab results on Peanut Butter's enlarged testicle have come back.He had a ruptured vas deferens (the tube that carries the semen). Lab thinks related to a blockage higher up as a result of his benign prostatic hyperplasia. This was a quick call from the vet. When PB sees her on Monday for his post-op check up my burning question will be what's happened to this blockage now?

Hopefully we've started to make headway on the yeast infection as he has started to gain weight. Post surgery he plummeted to 1030 grams. Next day it was 1052 and yesterday 1067, have yet to weigh him today. Long way to go to his 1240 stable weight but at least the numbers are going up, not down..

Oh ouch- that poor boy! He is having the roughest time! I don't have any advice, but have plenty of sympathy! It's great that his weight is going in the right direction... he is clearly a tough little guy!

Poor little dude. Sending him tons of love and a big hug to you Lilly x

Thank you. I just shudder to think the pain he was in. But he does seem to be a tough little fighter, which just makes me want to fight for him more.

Thank you. I know you have your own worries with Cookie. Great to hear it is a dental problem that can be sorted.

Thank you, your good wishes are really appreciated.

Peanut Butter has been chewing on everything he can get his toofies on this weekend. Last night at lap time he was trying to pull up threads from the lap pad. Checked his teeth & his bottom incisors are overgrown. Wish the vet had thought to trim them last week while she was doing everything else. Just worried about him having another whiff of gas in 2 weeks.

Poor Peanut Butter! That is a lot to cope with! Would your vet consider conscious dentals?

This is the new specialist vet so I am definitely going to ask her. It's only his incisors, after all, one would think no need for sedation.

Poor PB, I am so rooting for your gorgeous little guy Lilly. He is having such a tough time, you are a wonderful piggy mum remember that x

PB has been to his post-op check-up and the vet was very happy with his progress. No pain anywhere she palpitated him & the surgery site looks great. He is off the Baytril now. We are continuing with the anti-yeast med and pro-biotics for another week then a poop test.

Vet said there was no blockage when she put the catheter up his prostate to get a cell sample. The rupture would have already happened long before (hence the pain) & cleared any blockage. So no further worries on that point.

We've postponed his incisors work for another week as she thought he still had room and showed me the gap when his mouth is closed. We've put his sudden weekend chew-a-thon to exuberance at feeling so much better. He certainly did eat up a storm at the weekend & continues to gain weight. Looks like a happy Xmas after all.:yahoo:
