Hi! Concerned about my daughters long haired piggy. Only had the pair since March. Piggy is very quiet after a day of making strange noises, different from the norm. Since then she has been really quiet. Staying in her bed for long periods of time. Doesn’t seem to have affected her eating or drinking. We have also noticed a small black mole in between her nipples. Any advise appreciated!

Welcome to our friendly forum! If your piggy is acting differently to normal I would take her to the vet for a health check. Piggies are very good at hiding illness as they are prey animals. A vet would rather see a well piggy with an anxious owner than a ill piggy with an owner who has left it too late. If you don't have a vet look at Recommended Guinea Pig Vets if you are located in the UK

Hi there! Great advice from above. If guinea pigs act differently then it’s definitely best to get them checked by a vet as they’re very good at hiding illness, therefore only show it when there is something wrong. Good luck :)

Hello and welcome. It’s not impossible you’ve seen a belly button if it’s between the nipples. However without s photo it’s difficult to say. Any change in behaviour in a piggy is cause for concern. When you say strange noises is it squeaking or coughing or rumbling? What does it sound like?
I’d definitely advise a vet visit to be sure there isn’t something wrong. Good luck.

Thank you all! Going to the vets tomorrow. Here is a pic. Not the best, sorry!

The noise was one that we hadn’t heard before, similar to a baby bird chirping... 🤷‍♀️

What you heard was Chirping. it is unknown why pigs do it and it is quite rare.

Unfortunately it is a mystery but they don't seem to do it in distress.

when you put food in is she coming to take it off you?
