My Piggies
Adult Guinea Pig
Hi all, it's been a while since I've last been on here.
Sadly, it's not a good update.
My old boy Oscar was put to sleep in early December last year, after continuing to lose weight and decline in his old age. Having adopted him from a rescue (who rescued him from a cruel situation where he was living in a tiny birdcage), his age was unknown but we estimate he was around 7 at the time of his passing. I will miss his quiet, reserved nature, and his bubbly, happy noises as he plotted around his cage. He was such a silly character, and such a sweetheart

Our two remaining girls, Daisy and Poppet were dropped off at boarding a couple weeks ago while we are on holidays.
I was informed yesterday that Poppet had suddenly passed away, but had shown no signs of illness the night before. She was still so young (just shy of 3 years old) so I'm still in shock. She was so perky and full of life, popcorning and running laps around the cage. I'm truly devastated to have lost her so unexpectedly

This all means that I only have my old timer Daisy left (she's 6 and been with me almost her entire life).

I didn't realise this would be the last photo I would take of the three of them

This is them on the day of Poppet's adoption in 2021 (Poppet on the left, Oscar in the middle, Daisy on the right)

I can't bear for Daisy to be alone, so hopefully when we pick her up from boarding we can find her two new friends
