Salt and mineral licks

I'm fairly new to piggies and I think I feed well with the usual pellets, Hay and veggies but have seen in online pet stores salt or mineral licks. Do I need to make these available too? Are they missing out on something? I'm concerned now although they look happy and healthy enough, l know they can become ill quickly.

I don't use these. Their pellet food should contain everything they need and along with veggies and loads and loads of hay they have a perfectly balanced diet.

I did give a pig these once in the past and they pretty much ate it in one shot which I am sure is not healthy for anyone so I would steer clear really.

Thanks for that I was thinking my pellet food should have this covered being a complete food as it were. Thanks for putting my mind at rest.

With good pellets and a balanced veg diet you will find that those stones are simply ignored by the piggies because they don't need them. A waste of money.
