I started a post on salt in pregnancy thread as thought she was pregnant. Found out she is not pregnant but that leaves me baffled!

She is not quite right. She has had two bleeds from her bottom or girl bits (hard to tell which as just around the general area). She was showing signs of being pregnant as had a lump on one side which showed on xray and could have been a baby which didnt have calicified bones. However 4 weeks on the lump had "disappeared" from the second xray.

Shes been very quiet not moving much over last few weeks, which would make sense if she was pregnant but she isnt. I had been seeing a vet through p@h for free but getting no-where so I moved to a better vet which I had to pay for and she gave me baytril which I have been giving since wednesday a weeks course.

Some days her tummy seems really big and other days she seems much slimmer. Her weight has been static for 3 weeks and she's only about 4 months old (shes around 620-630gms). I can feel all her ribs and spine!

This morning her tummy seemed big again and sure enough there was what looked like dried blood on her bits.

I have no idea what is going on. I was thinking it might be gas making her tummy bigger but I don't see how gas could cause bleeding?

I have been told to do a test on her urine again after the week's antibiotics and if blood present she'll have to have a scan. It's worrying as she seemed so much better after vets visit but seems to have gone downhill again.

I have listened to her tummy on numerous occasions and it is very loud and bubbly sometimes it feels like something is kicking my ear. Could this be gas?

That could be gas; her being sometimes bigger and sometimes slimmer also supports this. Her recent bleeding has me very worried. Has her womb been checked? Something could be wrong there and also cause the gassing.
Have you got one of our recommended vets within your reach?

I'm just thinking out loud here!

You said you thought she was pregnant, and then she was not!

If she was carrying a pup and it had died, in the woumb that may possibly account for the symptoms, ?

Whatever the cause, it sounds as though the something drastically wrong! Personally I would ask for a referral, it would be easy for your vet to find another vet who specialises

I think she needs a scan as soon as possible to see what is going on in there. I can sympathise on the blood, found the same thing on my Ellie tonight.

Thanks guys I do have an exotics vet who gave me the antibiotics she will be going back again and having a scan next week. For some reason the vets ive been seeing for free didnt send over the xrays just the notes. If I ring them will they send them do you think?

Helen your not doing well at the minute! sorry to hear about Ellie!

I will be ringing vets tomorrow for an appointment but I'm hoping to get xrays sent over first somehow!

Yes miscarriage is possibility but it is hard to say if she was ever pregnant. Two vets from same practice looked at first xray. One said he didnt look like she was pregnant but that it could be that it had not calcified yet he said he ciuldnt see any masses, and other relooked at the same xray and showed me a mass which he thought could have been a baby so I think I will only really know if she was once a better vet has seen it! I wouldn't know where organs should be etc.. so I wouldnt know if either was correct. I will see if they can email them me so I can post on here if they are computerised nowadays?

This sounds really odd, agree on more scans and getting the original xrays sent to a more experienced vet. Love to Salt, hope you can get some idea of what is going on.
