Cleaned out the dog carrier and decided to take photos while he was out so as not to disturb him more than once.
Tried to get piggy lips, but he is too dark to distinguish

what a hunk! he's beautiful!drool so glad to see he's doing much better, he's so lucky to have made his way to you! x

oh how lovely! he looks really well, he is really on the mend now is nt he? i really think you pulled him back from the brink of death.

Besides the skin condition hes starting to look like a normal healthy piggy! Well done pat your doing a great job. :) I wish i could meet him. Did you know he is part abysinian? Not a pure bred, but has atleast one roset that i can see. The boar in my picture is also an abysinian cross. :)

WE pulled him back from the brink of death; he did not warm up and become responsive until I followed the vitamin C advice, and he did not become active until I started syringing him the baby food carrots as in another suggestion. Truly he was cold, stiff, and unresponsive but WE brought him around. He's not out of the woods yet, but I think he has a more than fair chance now, don't you?

oh wow, he looks a lot better! and he's so cute, laid on his back:)):))

Oh no, I'm not even close to familiar with any breeds except to know an American and a Texel when I see them now. That is good to know, it might help me treat him according to his disposition. He has a couple of spiky places; I can't tell yet if they are rosettes or if they are just unhealthy hair sticking up from the dry skin.

It'll be great if he has some aby in him - they're right little characters!

He is a cutie! Definately looks like some abby in there. Did he put himself on his back! I've never seen a pig lie like that before. I would guess he's not very old from his little nails. Well done Pat, he's looking much brighter already.

Oh Pat doesnt he look so much better !

I have just been looking back on one of your previous threads to compare pigtures of the little guy - you can really see it in the eyes.

Well done, he's lovely x)

oh my god, Pat he looks brilliant, proper little charmer showing off his bits whilst lounging on his back!

Well done all xxxxxx

Haha. My boy spice definatly is snugglier than his friend sugar, but sugar is the explorer. Every time i set him down hes off! spice is happy to just nuzzle up to my neck. However they both are part abysinian part PEW, (not that youd know it looking at them.)

No, and I have to feel sorry for him, but he will hold whatever position I place him in and not move. He does not act afraid and is not skittish, but when I handle him he freezes in position. I think he must still be terrified of being bullied like he was when I found him. Then when I place him back in the dog carrier, he comes back to life and runs to hide in the basket.

This frozen with fear is fairly common at first, especially with piggies that have had a traumatic time. Hopefully, with carefull gentle handling and time to get used to you, it will ease up. :)

I know its not on your mind just yet, but after he is better, what happens to him if he cant be bonded with red? And are you aware of how the bonding process should be done? :)

He really is looking brighter Pat, my Nigel is an Abby and to say he is a character is a slight understatement :))

He's looking so much better! :) Abby's are proper little characters. :(|)

Why, I will either simply have two piggies, one in each part of the house, or the run I construct (I have the materials, now I just need the health and the leisure) will simply be a two-piggie run with a divider down the middle so they can see each other but not brutalize each other. Regardless of how many pigs, the run is to be long, 6 or 8 feet. There is great advice on this forum on how to bond, and enough people present to give me step-by-step, so I am certain when the time comes there will be little problem. One thing I won't do is to just put Sal in with Red. That wouldn't be fair to either of them. And of course right now Sal is as quarantined as quarantined can be.

i haven't posted on any of his threads yet but i have been following them. he does look much better bless him.

as katie says he doesnt looks very old i would guess he's not hit 6 months old yet (closer to 3-4)

gentle chin rubs to sal from my and the piglets x

He is looking amazing! Misty and I send hugs to you, Sal and Red x

he is looking much better, well done.

And as mentioned its showing in his eyes, having nursed a lot of sick animals on the farm you can tell how close to loosing them you are by their eyes and the original photos you were close, now he looks so much better and full of life.

He does look young but also, if he's been deprived of a good diet then that will have affected his growth, difficult to tell.

Glad he seems to be doing so well Pat, and its all down to you!

Ooooooh Thankyou for the lovely Pigtures, its so nice to see him looking brighter, you are doing a fantastic job Pat you should be proud of your self x
