Hey everyone

I am relatively new to the forum having joined a few weeks ago looking for some opinions about my ill piggie Bob. We sadly lost him last Saturday and I feel the vet had the diagnosis wrong. I am devasted that we lost him, he hadn't had the best wee life. Bob had been abandoned twice and was told he was around 2 and a half when I got him from P@H adoption centre. In the 11 months I had him he always had one thing or another not quite right. I tried to give him a good new life where he was an indoor piggie with free roam of my flat (he didn't really take advantage of this though). I always new gp's are better in pairs so wanted to get him a friend so in came Sam, who I got reluctantly from P@H (I used to work their....) but I fell in love when I saw him.

Bob and Sam got on immediately and were living together within a few days :)

When we lost Bob last week I saw an immediate change in Sam, he became very quiet, but loved his cuddles from me so I knew I couldn't hang about and went on the search for a friend for Sam.

Our local SSPCA only had one male piggie who was older and as I have forked out a lot of money on Bob I really couldn't afford to risk getting an older pig who may have ill health. I would never ignore any slight sign of ill health in my pets, but being a student I am not rolling in it!

So after a few days I got Dillon an 11 week old piggie from garden centre that uses local breeders. Sam loved Dillon and was desperate to get his wee paws on him.....he made noises I have never heard him make before! So he kept me laughing through the sad time :(

Sam and Dillon are now best buddies. Dillon has taken over straight away. He is so adventurous and Sam follows...little piggie train round the flat!

I wanted to say thanks to those on the forum who answered my questions about Bob when he was ill and the support after I lost him. It has been tough...no matter how many pets I have had it never gets any easier!

Eilidh :)

I am glad that Sam has found a new friend that suits him! They make a very striking pair!

You must be still sorry about Bob; try to think that you did your best to make him happy and look after him to the best of your abilities. He must have appreciated your efforts and tlc!

Lovely boys. My girls say hi we are in Edinburgh too:)p

I'm so glad they bonded. They are both lovely..

Sorry to hear of your loss, it is never easy.

But it does look like you have a good pair set up now.

Again, please accept our condolences on your loss.
