I thought I would just share this experience with everyone.

Yesterday evening I was cuddling Brillo, my 5 year old rescue boar who I adopted last month. He's made great progress in a month as he had rarely been handled in his life.
However, on this occasion, Brillo decided to head down my shirt which was quite a fitted type so not a lot of room to add a piggy!
Instead of coming back up, or even working his way down to my waist, Brillo decided to try to escape via my sleeve. The sleeves were elbow length and not very roomy.
After a lot of scrambling, Brillo's head appeared at my elbow, but unfortunately there was no way his chunky little body would fit through. I gently tried to turn him round but by this stage he was panicking and started to attack me. With the help of my son and daughter we managed to get my shirt off and finally free Brillo.
I've got a series of bites and scratches to my chest, arm and shoulder but thankfully Brillo seemed none the worse for his ordeal. I will be watching him more closely in future!

Ooooh dear :S ... sounds like brillo got himself into a pickle ... poor lil man and poor you bet you will wear loose fitting tops next time lol or stop him ... hope hes ok and hope your wounds heal quick :P

ouchy , i think mine would do that if i let them, i ust to be so surprised hen people would write about how an animal would bite or peck (i own birds) till i got my own little hand reard love bird, he has bitten me a few time drawn blood, he is a nipper but i still love him and understand what caused him to do it, before i would Be like if it had done that to me they would be out, but its odd how we learn to love our pets and forgive them

i hope you are both of, sounds like the poor piggy had a fright

This happened to me the other day with Ellie. She didn't bite me though but could have done if I'd not freed her in time :)) She was sat on my chest and something spooked her so she jumped down the front of my top. I hope your wounds heal soon xx

My sympathies! I think I've got THAT t-shirt!

Since then, I wear only old XL t-shirts or pullover and make sure I'm not sporting my best underwear, either, in case of accidents.

But it's a great way of making a new and not much handled piggy comfy with you. So great of you to take on a 5 year old! What's his story?

When i got my first piggie she got spooked on the floor with my OH AND RAN UP HIS TROUSER LEG!

Oops sorry about the caps!

Good job she didnt make it to the top!

Brillo came from Brinsley Animal Rescue in Nottinghamshire. He had previously lived with a rabbit. Beth at Brinsley had tried to bond him with a number of baby boars but Brillo bullied each of them. Because of his age neutering wasn't really an option. Last November I adopted Noggin who was 4 years old from Honeybunnies. Noggin is also a single boar and they now live side by side. However progress has been made in the last couple of weeks and they play together in the run each day. I guess I just have a thing about elderly, lonely boars ! :))

sometimes you just have to expect the unexpected

pigs like to go for cover when frightened and chasing them around leads them to unusual places like sleeves, under my couch, in my blanket

and stuff
