Senior Guinea Pig
After watching this sad boy grieving (and even having daily cuddles
)

I knew I had to try and find a little friend pretty soon for him, he has really been missing his bestie Lolo.
I moved Jasper and Cleo next door, who have been very sweet, but kept disappearing off for couple time and ditching him, which also meant his bar biting was in full force too!

With his cataracts and hearing I thought it must be a bit of a lonely life for him, so I looked around for a little lady to join him. And I came across this little girl very quickly, who was mainly white and called Jessie (which was very funny after 8 years of having one myself!) so I inquired about her.

The poor little lady was rescued after being found living in a tiny cage with a rabbit, with no bedding, and ‘contaminated’ food and water, and had ringworm
She’d been living with a foster carer all by herself since August, and was a very scared little girl bless her, very much needed a friend.
So after they messed me around a little with dates, my friend took me to pick her up from Birmingham on Wednesday!

I was warned how scared she was, but her first night was absolutely amazing, look at that face while I chatted to her next door with Gigi!

She’s been so happy and great that even though I was going to leave it longer before bonding I decided to do it on Friday, they were so excited by each other and she was so comfortable around him here, and with me!

Who would have guessed from that cute, innocent face (I should’ve after Cleo!) that she’s a bit of a dominant little monster!
So a very interesting and rather stressful first hour of bonding, lunging at each other, full on teeth chatters in each other faces and she wasn’t giving in to that Gigi humping!
(Reminded me a bit of the Luigi and original Jess a few years ago, but I though Luigi might have calmed down since then, nope!
) She was probably having flashbacks to that bunny bless her, but wasn’t having any of it! Until this after an hour, phew!
So everyone please meet the newly named Orla, with her new bestest mate Gigi!

I picked her up on my late grandad’s birthday who was Northern Irish, so thought a nice Irish name would be nice to remember him, it means ‘golden princess’

She’s so brave and confident, and utterly blooming gorgeous of course!
