My guinea pig has one singular scab on her back. Has she just caught herself or is it something else? It’s just one and I can’t see anything else

She also has ovarian cysts not sure if that’s relevant.

How long has it been there? Any dandruff?

Has she been itching more than usual? Does she live with a friend? It could be a few things. I’d get her seen by a vet in case the cysts are causing discomfort and she’s biting herself or it could be mites/lice, a wound from her cage mate if she has one. Good luck I hope it’s something easily sorted.

Thanks all she’s in for Friday
If it is mites it will get worse quickly, and she will need to go before, but you won’t mistake mites it goes from nothing to everything very fast.
Looking at it could be fungal or a burst skin cyst maybe

Let us know how she gets on

Thanks I did say it needs to be sooner but exotic vet is away. They said if she’s worse by Wednesday they will try and get her in
I’ve been away 3 days and she’s been fine so I wonder if it’s something else or the cysts bothering her but will keep an eye out. Seen no itching yet
