Recently we got a new guinea pig, Precious. After letting her settle in for a couple days I decided to pick her up and check her over, like how I would our other guinea pigs. When doing this I noticed a scab on the back of her neck. At first I thought maybe she had a fight with one of her previous cage mates so left it alone but the next day when I went to feed her she had a large patch of missing hair which was bleeding. Straight away we took her to the vets. The vets treated her for mites and said the scabs/bleeding were where she was itching so much.

It has now been a couple of days and I'm seeing small improvements but I was wondering if there was anything else I should be doing?
She is still living alone as I dont want to risk the others getting anything.

@busybea It can take a number of treatments to work so if you're seeing improvements already that is a great sign!.

Keep an eye on her for scratching as sometimes it gets quite itchy and they can slow down the healing by scratching themselves
