I have just brought my first two home for the first time. They seem to be very timid and are just hiding in the corner. I'm worried that they are just hiding there and not eating/drinking. They have only been home for 4hrs but I know they arent meant to stop eating... Any advice about how to settle in new pigs would be grateful...

Give them time to settle and get their bearings; that will take a couple of days. Place some food near their hide - they will probably come out during the night and eat when they feel unwatched.

Here are more tips for settling shy new piggies:

We have more hopefully helpful information for new owners in our reference section.

This happened with both our baby piggie (who we adopted about 4weeks ago) and are two other piggies who we've only had about a week and a half. Don't worry too much like Wiebke said they will come out once you've gone to bed when everywheres quiet, this is what ours did. They will get used to you/surroundings and come out to eat and drink it just takes time :)

i think i was worrying unduly! they seem to be settling in well and have been popcorning around the run this evening! I think they are trying to sort out who is boss as there is alot of chatter going on! Thanks for all the advice, i can tell this is going to be a good place to find out info about my new additions!:)
