Hey peeps,

Knowing the heat was going to hit, I went out and spent some dosh on the cool pads as they don't do the Icepods. Anyone else got these, what do they think?

I was still nervous about the heat and so froze the snuggle safes in the freezer again....goodness knows if they'll work again for heat, but it served it purpose. So all piggies had extra helping of coolness.

Would be interested if anyone else used the cool pads and if their piggies use them.

The ones which keep activating when the piggies move? I've seen them on amazon and have considered but wondering if they would be able to cope with getting peed and pooped on

That's the ones...they are the gel ones. I did notice when I put my hand on it, it started to get cold but I do wonder if the piggies will sit long enough to get cool. So far after one night, there's lots of poop and wee on and I'm wondering how I'm going to clean them...hmmm, time is going to clearly tell if they work or not... I'm not completely convinced, at least with Icepods I know they are very cold and do the job.

@Chief Guinea Pig
How would you go about washing them, does it have some instructions?
And thank you :)
Oh, I'm not sure, will have to report back tomorrow when I see the girls again.
I believe it may have said wipe clean only. So with a sponge or something. I think it would ruin the technology inside it when it activates if you put it in the washing machine.
No problem

Sorry I don't know anything about the cool pads.

I've been using a Scratch & Newton Icepod this past week.
I pop it in a small snuggle sack so that they don't touch it directly (or you can wrap it up in something) Andy seems to like it more than Ted does, he has been laying on it a lot it's his favorite spot at the moment but they both like to stand on it.
I've also found that it cools the air down in their cage as well so I'd use it even if they didn't lay on it.
