I have mentioned this a few times - Scruffy just did a wee and it was really milky. he leaves lots of chalky deposits on his blankees and vetbed. He also drinks ALOT. its really strong smelling too. His wees are also huge! he did the wee about an hour ago and got coverd and still isnt dry from it.

I noticed when cleaning his bum last night that also compared to Max up his bottom (sorry this sounds gross but hard to explain!lol ) there is lots of creamy gloop. i know they have this but there was soo much.

I am taking them to vets at end of the month for their checkup, just wondered are this signs of problems in getting bladder stones?

scruffy's wee

Hi, sounds like your chap has an infection, you say the wee smells, I have a sow with this problem at the moment,I am waiting on results from the vet. But your problem sounds very similar. I would bring the vet appointment forward and get him checked out. It could be just an infection but could also be stones, so you would possibly need an xray to confirm this for definate. Hope it is just an infection, I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I'm not sure what the indicators of bladder stones are but the white smelly stuff you mention i've found varies from boar to boar. I have boars whom's bottoms are rarely smelly & others who really honk.

Some piggies drink a lot, others don't. Has his drinking increased at all? Has he had a lot of calcium rich food?
I would imagine he does big wees because he drinks a lot tho' i'm not sure it should be strong smelling ?/

Now i read that back, i wasn't a great help was i :)) :x

no thanks guys. i was just touching his back near his legs and hes squeaking and really perturbed. he does this sometimes but today is really bad. max does it sometiesw but not alot - hes quite a moody pig so could that just be moods?

my mum is with him all day and she says he drinks more than Max but cannot judge if its more than usual. we've just noticed its alot.

I try and not give him a high calcium diet - he has celery, lettuce, broccoli leaves, carrots, occasional dill, but hes so fussy he doesnt eat much else.

I'm not sure about it being his moods, what i will say is he's yours & YOU know him best. :)
I'm sure you would be able to determine wether he was having an "off" day or not tho' of course, having got a "temperamental" piggy myself of course it could be him being moody, most don't like their back ends being touched.
I really don't know & can only say if you are worried about him take him to the vets :)

thanks Niki, i think i may mention at vets, they can test his wee i guess. I might take a sample for them just in case.

He is quite a moody little so and so, just he sounds so distressed tonight!
