I thought about making a C&C after adopting Mr T, I've always had a run attached to my Ferplast cage to give my girls more room but I needed to ensure that they had more space. Here's how it looked: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=88456
As much as it was easy to put up, take down and clean, I thought that a C&C would take up as much space but would be so much neater, be more manageable and alot safer...
Over the past 3 days, Baby has suddenly become the Houdini. It started when coming home from work with my OH, he asked where Baby was as we couldn't see her, turns out she was sat all proud with herself in a fleece under my bed! And then last night and today shes escaped yet again and the second time, she had broken the connection of the grids that I had up but Muffin and Tetley havn't escaped once!
I decided on a 3x4 cage over a 2x5 to fit the space in my room. I ordered my grids and correx online after alot of help from you all so thanks for all your help :) I all came by Tuesday so was excited to get it all setup today. Lets just say, its taken us a few hours today to get everything measured, scored, taped together and sorted with a few fallings out in the process. I hope I won't be making another tray in a while. :...

They are pretty settled, but theres abit of food stealing going on, i've given them some carrot, turnips and spring greens so they have been wanting to eat what the other one is eating instead of just finding a new piece rolleyes. Not seen them zooming around yet thought but i'm looking forward to it.
Sorry that its a long one but the time it took us to setup, I needed to show you all :))

Really nice pigs and good job on the cage. Where did you get the cubes and coroplast because I want to build one for the winter but I'm finding it hard to get my hands on the supplies.

Thank you! Theres a few odd bits of rubbish cutting out but nothing that a cage liner wouldn't cover :)

I got the grids from here: http://www.wayfair.co.uk/Safco-Wire-Cubes-in-Black-5279BL-SAF1061.html
For £30 you get 20 grids, 22 corner connectors and 16 clips. and free delivery which is hard to find on grids as they are heavy. I used the corner connectors on the tops and the clips around the bottom as there wasn't enough connectors but I think I like the clips better anyway.

I got the correx from here: http://www.mdpsupplies.co.uk/corrugatedplastic.asp?parentcatname=Corrugated Plastic&parentcat=32
I got the 61x41inch 4mm thickness in white pack of 5.
I used two sheets out of the pack of 5 as I purchased with Paula (salt n peppers mum) and the other 3 are hers :). Its really thick and sturdy. To create the size I wanted, I had to tape together pieces of the correx but waterproof heavy duty tape isn't hard to get hold of, I got a huge roll for £4.

HTH :)

Looking great - well done! It's so satisfying when you make your first C&C!

You have been busy! Wow very impressed :)

You have made a wonderful home for your piggies and I hope Mr T especially appreciates it!

Now he has his wifettes a lovely home and a slave on hand, a long way from roaming the streets of Doncaster!

It looks fab, I find it very satisfying making piggies cages and of course C&C is so versatile to amend and adapt.

We'll have to sort a date that I can pop up for my Correx sheets and say Hello to Mr T, Muffin and Baby ;)

WOAH this is brilliant x)x)x)x)
ahhhhhhh Baby......tsk tsk..........lookies what you've made your lovely mummy and daddy have to do! (maybe it was a piggie plot to have a new house setup rolleyes)

Oo it took us forever! We had to tape two different sheets to it as it wasn't big enough and measuring everything up, I was getting moody near end because I thought it wasn't going to fit the grids! rolleyes OH got stabbed accidentally of course a few times too but it was worth it in the end.
I will enjoy watching Mr Teapot zooming around after my girls :) Hes been a good boy for me since Babys been escaping, he stayed in the cage for me!
We will have to :) you'll need a big car to get that correx in! I had trouble getting it home from work. x

I was away on saturday night and my mum had text me telling me she had escaped. She said it was like toy story, that they were plotting to escape and run my room :))
