About two weeks ago Sid stopped eating his hay. He has been eating his pellets just fine and still drinking so I didn't think much about it. I've just took him out then and he felt really skinny so I weighed him and he only weighs 250 grams. He is three and a half and at one stage was over a kilo in weight. I'm really concerned about him, I'll be taking him to the vets at the weekend but is there anything else I can do for him?

Welcome to the forum. He is very small so it is good you are off to the vets. Over what period has he lost that weight? First and most important thing is to step in with syringe feeding, will post our guide below. Please could you also confirm your location as that will help with any advice we can give. I will be honest though, at that weight it is likely that his body has started to shut down so the vet may suggest helping him to the bridge. I am sorry to have to say that.

Hi and welcome!

Please start syringe feeding him asap! Hay is making up to 80% of the daily food intake, so please switch from weighing weekly to weighing daily at the same time, get a vet appointment and start topping up with syringe feed as soon as guinea pig is losing more than 30g from one day to another.
Take the time to read this guide here, so you go about it correctly. Use mushed up pellets in an emergency.

See a vet as soon as possible tomorrow.

Thank goodness. I wonder if he snuck a foot or two off the scales. Mine do that. Hope his dental goes OK.
