I got this new spray that is like shampoo for guinea pigs but it doesn’t need water. Wondering if it is safe for them?

The spray does not need water. You just spray it on their fur and they smell better. They smell like poop so I wanted them to smell better

I would be wary of using too many chemicals on the sensitive guinea pig skin. In most cases a gentle bum wash with baby warm plain water will do the trick without disturbing the oil layer and skin microbiome and without risking avoidable problems like dry skin etc.

Any perfumes and perfumed products are a no no around piggies. Keep in mind that they react differently to scents; they are not humans and have a much more sensitive but very small respiratory system.

A deodorised piggy is a crippled piggy as smells (pheromones) are an important part of their communication.

Guinea pigs clean themselves. I personally would not use these kinds of product as a matter of routine.
If they do smell, then I would follow the guidance in the link and give a bum bath with water, but definitely don’t do it frequently.
If they are continually smelly, then I would look at other sources:
how often do you clean their cage?
do you keep the hair around their bottoms short so they aren’t soaked with urine?

I sweep their cage every day and wash their fleece once a week. They have short hair that does not touch the floor

What sort of absorbent layer do you use under the fleece?
I know my two boys (who are bedded on fleece in the summer) couldn’t go a week between fleece changes, it needs to be done twice a week to prevent it becoming smelly.

I use the Guinea dad fleece liner. I live in the USA so u might of not heard of it. Look it up
