What are the moments that really melt your heart with your piggies?

For me I think those 'moments' are all about trust... little demonstration that those little fluffy, fearful, tykes feel safe enough to let their guard down.

With Freddie, it's him falling asleep in the crook of my arm.

Marmalade is much more timid by nature, so his little 'gifts' are smaller and contain more vulnerability. I also find it quite sweet how attached to little things I own Marmalade becomes, like my favourite jumper, blanket and towels etc.

Charlotte always wants to be tucked under my chin. When anyone else hold her she wants to come back to me. Tabitha is still nervous but knows her name and responds to it. She is becoming braver everyday.
They all like it when I sing to them, Tabitha is a lovely cuddly pig and likes Savage Garden. Kizzy started popcorning to Steps once, Lexi likes Evanescence, Annabelle likes Whitney Huston but hates Elvis and Charlotte likes Deana Carter who is a country singer. It is wonderful just how different they are. Now I just have to figure out what Poppy and Francesca like.

I love when someone else is holding Theo, I put my hands out and he automatically comes to me *** because he trust me the most :)

I've had one really big one (first one) but most are the little ones that make you stop and think "awww" and give you the fuzzy feeling.

The day Flossie finally settled enough to move in with some more piggies. When the shed was ready for the pigs we put Einstein in first, followed by the mini herd, then the nursery herd. Flossie had been rather aggressive before now (all nervous aggression) and with three of us on stand by just in case... well, we weren't needed! She settled in quite quickly! :)

When Einstein fell asleep on me when he'd been brought in to meet my auntie. He's quite nervous around us so when he stretched out on his blankie and made himself comfy, my heart just melted.

Similarly, when Jess decided she wanted to make herself comfy and snooze! She let me stroke her head while she was sprawled out. Such a sweet natured little lady!

When my piggies come to take some veggies out of my hand in the shed. With a big herd they're a bit...wilder than house piggies/pairs so it's a massive thing for me when one of the shyer piggies comes to see what I've got and take it off me! I've started doing it when I'm at home and more of them are starting to realise that when mum comes in and sits with us, she has FOOD!

^ I always wonder, how do they propel them so far!

Not often you can capture the touching moment, but this time my daughter managed to make a picture that made me melt:

I came home today after a night away and was met by a chorus of sqeaking :)

Awwwwwww it's great when they are excited to see you. With mine food is usually their number one motive... and it's more of a telling off I'm getting - tee hee @)

my other guniea i have cuddles me and tries to get under my chin! also i always notice how they get to your heart for cuddles. and they stay there. for ages! X

We're not meant to have favorites but Patrick is my most trusting guinea pig by far, be it medicine or just a cuddle, being put back in his cage Patrick will happily come up and be lifted or jump onto my lap if he feels like co-operating he most certainly has no fear, all my piggies are special in there own way but as Patrick needs more one on one time to give him his medicines etc, we have a special bond.

caramel goes to sleep on my chest, fully asleep with closed eyes and a clucking little noise like a snore x)x)x)

I have I guess 3 times that really choked me up with my piggy, chipychanga. When he first had teeth surgery and had to be on morphine because the Vet accidentally clipped his gums and I was syringe feeding him. He was so tired that he curled up on his side on my lap and fell asleep.

When he sat on my lap wheeking loudly for butternut squash when I was syringe feeding him and apparently I wasn't feeding him fast enough! lol.

And recently when I brought him some grated carrots that he had not been able to eat for a week due to his teeth being done and he plowed into it, eating as fast as he could. I almost cried with relief.

He can eat normally now and I'm so happy!

^ Worked... bless his little cotton sox! :)

I'm really happy to hear Chipychanga is able to eat again - it's a great feeling and huge relief! x

Eliza pined for her cage mate Connie when she sadly died and it was heartbreaking leaving her outside in the hutch by herself. Even after nearly three years with news friends, it is lovely to see her so happy. Eliza is my eldest pig and we share a special bond. She always has to lay right under my
chin.

Eleanor was rather frightened and shy when she first came here. She is now my most trusting and cuddliest pig.

Erin was a skittish six week old when she came here. It has been lovely to watch her grow in to the trusting two year old she is today. Erin is very much a pigs pig and loves piggy company.

Ena came here at four weeks and is the youngest of the group. She has grown in to a bossy but brave lady. She looks after Erin especially when she gets scared.

All the girls have very different personalities but they work well together and I am very proud of them :) xx

Aww that's lovely. You and Patrick shared a special bond. He really trusts you :)

To this day my heart could burst with pride when I go and greet harvey, whether that be in his run, his his hutch/mooching around the garden he will always give a little popcorn its so sweet! I also like when he watches me put out the washing and waits patiently for a little stroke on his nogging.

I feel bad but i feel that I have a connection/bond with Harvey that I dont seem to have with the other piggies - its strange/hard to describe.

I'm really proud and pleased with Percy-Roo and Tabby, adopting them was the best decision i have ever made and seeing them happy, healthy and enjoying life everyday just makes you appreciate the life you have with them.

This photo of Artie when he was very, very ill two years ago always makes me choke up.

Aww bless him. I think when we have nursed a pig back to health, it is difficult not to have a special bond. I sure did with Connie even though we lost her in the end.

Awwww :( Its taken me two years for Artie to trust me again, he spent his 'pighood' being syringe fed, eye drops, baytril day in day out and it did affect his trust with people, however he bonded really well with my mum whilst I was at uni during the day and hes now willing to come near people, and just sits and waits to be fed!

My little Buddy is such a mummys boy - when he was neutered he lived in my room for a few weeks post op. During that time I had to go back to uni in Worcester to do exams for a week and so my parents looked after him, but he still lived in my room.
When I came home after that week, I walked in my room and said "Hey baby boy" and he popcorned like mad, wheeking his head off, and when I opened the cage he jumped onto my lap and snuggled for about 5 minutes, before popcorning around my whole bedroom :)

So many lovely stories regarding people's piggies. They are so special.

I had a really special bond with Putt, who we lost this year. She would always climb into her 'chube' to be taken for laptime and when I put her on the sofa next to me, she would clamber up onto my lap and snuggle. Everytime she did it, it made me feel so special and honoured to have her trust despite all the vets visits and syringing meds, I know she loved us,

The last time Pitch ever wheeked for food after a sucessful dental choked me up. Pitch always wheeked but when she got ill she hadn't for a month until one night, we heard her little voice. Unfortunately she never did again, but I feel blessed to have heard her one last time. She has been our loudest wheeker and could be heard over the dyson when hoovering :))

Seeing Cookie & Treacle do laps of their cage every morning at breakfast always makes me go awwwwww..... They are so excitable and into everything. Their energy and enthusium never ceases to make me smile.

Megan going to sleep on my lap last wednesday, having only had her for 3 days made me melt. She is the only other piggie apart form Putt to enjoy lap times... Cookie & Treacle always voice their displeasure at having to spend time with there hooman slaves :))

My Ginger girl Truffle snuggling into my neck, she's my little neck hugger.

Ooh, a few really make my eyes sting but two stand out in my mind the most. When we bought Harley home after his bladder stone op, I was afraid to pick him up out of his carrier and put back in his pen but he only caught sight of his brother Chopper and leaped :...They sniffed each other and chattered in piggy lingo for ages - bought a tear to my eye that day :0
When we had Frankie and Benny neutered, again got them both home and Frankie just wanted his house but Benny snuggled up to me for a few minutes...I swear if he could have spoken, he would have said how happy he was to be back home 8...
I know they'll break my heart into millions of pieces one day but the little devils have me wrapped totally around their paws and just seeing them every morning and when I come home from work makes every single day sooo much better x)
