Just seen this on a website called Petopedia ...
Don’t worry if your guinea pig doesn’t particularly touch his food or water for a day or two after surgery, he probably won’t feel like eating right away and his appetite should gradually return.
I've emailed them to let them know the danger of this and the website should be changed.

Not everything you read on the internet is correct or trustworthy, this is a typical example! Terrible misinformation, glad you are correcting them x
 
Just went looking for this and I don't think that they expect people to interpret it as it being ok for a piggy not to eat for a day or two but that is always a risk when things aren't written clearly
