Should I follow up a running lice shampoo with an insecticidal powder

My boys Elliot and Oscar have running lice, so I've bought some Johnsons insecticidal shampoo and plan to bathe them today, but in a few days, would it be ok to follow this up with the Johnsons Insecticidal powder or should I just shampoo them and see if that sorts the problem? I've already powdered my hammie, maximillian, because there was no way I was attempting to give that little buggerluggs a bath!
 
I don't know anything about the treatments you are giving your piggies, but I always use ivermectin. The ivermectin I use is xeno450, it is a spot on treatment and is easy to do. You need to buy it from the vet but I never have to take my piggies in or pay for a consultation just explain that they have lice.
 
Thanks for your reply. So do you just get the ivetmectin over the counter at the vets without having to take your piggy with you? How much is ivermectin over the counter at vets? Thanks x
