Should my guinea pigs be doing this?

I’m introducing a baby sow to my 18 month old sow. The baby is in a grass tunnel and the older sow followed her in there. They’ve been in there not moving for around 30 minutes with the occasional purring noise from the older sow. Is this a bad thing?
 
No, sounds okay. How old is the baby and how long have you had her?

Also change your location to just the county. You have to be careful about putting your personal information online ☺

Another thing is when you’re introducing you don’t put any hides in the bonding area. Just a pile of hay and veggies at feeding time. Make sure you thoroughly clean out the cage they’ll be living in. Change any bedding and wash any hides that may smell of your older sow.
 
She’s 11 weeks old and we’ve had her at home for two weeks. Also, thanks for the heads up, didn’t realise it was public 😅
 
Any piggies under four months need to be bonded straight away. They need the social interaction more than anything - it’s piggy school where they learn to interact. It’s done now anyway.
 
We were advised to quarantine the baby for two weeks as she came from a breeder as opposed to a pet shop.
 
No. At that age they really need the social interaction more than the quarantining. As said, it’s done now. Get her booked in for a vet check soon as well. We would love to see some photos of your girls.
 
If they are both in the same hidey house, and that hidey house isnt squeaking in outrage and bouncing about, it sounds like they are taking a snuggly nap together and are going to be friends :)
