show guinea pigs

Unfortunately we aren't able to talk about showing on this forum, it's against the rules :)

I have asked this question in the past when a thread like this came up, but I dont think I got an answer...

surely there are purebreed piggies out there in rescues, abyssinians with all the right number of crests etc. I mean, the number of breeders that decide to go out of business and rescues have to pick up the pieces and all that...

is this forum against showing piggies, even if it has nothing to do with a person breeding for it?

say you pick a beautiful peruvian up from a rescue, and because she is so stunning, you decide to show her. Is posting about that against forum rules too? Just asking.
 
Hopefully one of the mods or admin can answer that, I think it has to be across the board you can't have some people allowed to talk about it and others that don't.

I think animal forums should have morals either you are for rescue or for S&B. I tried putting details of a rescue pig on another forum that was for S&B but it was removed because they don't believe in that sort of thing. I was dumbfounded but the three don't go together I guess and rightly so.

I agree...lol but thats their rules and I guess they aren't being hypocritical. ::)

The rules of the forum state that we do not allow discussion on showing and intentional breeding. For this reason it cannot be discussed. Rules cannot be bent to accommodate what somebody might see as an exceptional case. If someone wahts to show their guinea pigs thats entirely up to them and there are plenty of other forums where they can discuss this. :)

I am on numerous forums and I know that most forums that accomodiate Classifieds will allow you to put an advert for Rescue piggies, again they need homes just like a baby that has been bred but unwanted by the breeder in question, could have a fault so it can not be shown.
I, personally disagree with breeding just because you want your sow to have a litter or to see the myrical of giving birth as some of the answers has been when I have questioned people why, but another topic another place.
