Hello
I have had 2 guinea pigs for about 2-3 months. I technically have 1 since the other Guinea pig belongs to my cousin. We use to have 3 Guinea pigs but sadly one passed away. I noticed that when I ce to check on my Guinea Pig nothing unusual had occurred except for this. My Guinea Pig had stopped purring as loud as he used to. In fact, I dont think he purrs anymore. It also sounds like he has a stuffy nose. If you were to listen to him carefully, you could hear like a minor stuffy nose. Besides all that, he is healthy and he doesent look sick but I'm still worried

If he sounds stuffy I'd take him to the vet just in case it's the start of a Uri.I took my Guiseppe down a week ago as he sounded sniffly too and he was prescribed antibiotics just in case and he's back to normally now. When you say purring, does it sound like a dove cooing?

Yes it does sound something to a bird cooing, and everytime he tries to purr he cant, instead he just kinda makes a very quiet whimpering

Hello and Welcome to the Forum.
Sorry to hear your guinea pig isn't well.
It does sound like he needs to see a vet as soon as possible as he might have a respiratory infection.
The good news is that these can usually be treated, especially if they are caught early enough and treated with antibiotics.

If you update your profile to show the area you live in people will be able to advise you on a good cavy savvy vet (assuming you don't already have one of course).
Good luck with your boy - I hope he is purring and feeling better very soon.
