Excuse the expression!
But cam down this morning to find one of the girl piggies with white / milky stuff all over her head ?(hve two 1yr old girls)

Perfectly fine in herself, nothing else in cage. Just wondered if it could be sick (but other threads mention piggies arent pysically sick) or whether the other one is in season and has sprayed her ?

Never had piggies before and wondered if anyone could advise whether piggies do spray like horses ?

thanks a lot - got to clean her up now.........

Sows can, and do, spray pee - usually in defiance, all over the face of the sow behind! One may be in season and getting humpy or cross.

It's true, they can't vomit - so pee is more likely!

update

Went to clean her up and turned out she had a massive absess on her head that burst and was oozing puss.

Poor thing, and how did i not notice before ! - but she is very long haired.

Antiobotics and lots of cuddles - seems fine in her self, but has now a dodgy hair cut via the vet!

thanks

Poor little girl! Very painful. I had this on a boar a few years ago ... it was on his back where his brother had bitten him and he was long-haired so it can go unnoticed.

Please make sure that the wound doesn't heal over too quickly. My boar's did and the absess just erupted again. My advice is to keep it bathed so removing the scab gently for a couple of days whilst on the antibiotics to let all the puss definitely come out.

Hope all goes well. Keep us updated.
