My guinea pig, Jack (piggy in my profile picture) is very, very sweet, and a good boy. I've always joked that he's part dog/ferret/lion cub but he's definitely a guinea pig (I hope). He's super flexible, and is really silly, whenever I give him a chew toy, he flings it around and plays with it. Anyway, he likes to chew on anything he can get to. His water bottle, paper, cardboard, and the walls in my house have all been subjected to being chewed on. He's got unlimited hay, water, chew toys and a bit of pellets. He was also at the vet recently for a check-up and his teeth are looking really good. I was just wondering, has anyone have/had a piggy that does this, or know why he does this? Thanks in advance, and have a great day!

I currently have a pig that will chew on anything that is near him lol. Sometimes pigs are just like that. The only thing i would say, is make sure he has enough space... if its too cramped he might get stressed and start gnawing on stuff. Ps. He is adorable.

Thanks! Yeah he's got an ok sized cage right now (living world large) and this winter he will be getting the x-large (which is the recommended size) and maybe that'll help the chewing a little. He doesn't seem stressed though, he just kinda waddles around chewing on everything haha.

How are your two? I believe you used to have an instagram account for them and wondered how they were doing now. :)

Yeah, some piggies are 'chewers' :)) We used to have pigs that lved chewing their wooden houses, Putt turned the window into a door!

Mine re-model their wooden houses and the legs of their step-stool. They’ve also chewed our walls! Though they seem to have stopped that fortunately!

One of my rainbow piggies was an avid chewer and also went for the corners of the walls. I was sooo worried he's missing on some vital nutrients and that's why he's craving unusual objects like the rubber on my slippers and the walls. He lived to the ripe age of nearly 10 and was the healthiest and happiest of pigs, so I wouldn't worry.
