Teenage Guinea Pig
Hi everyone
My two boys Carrot & Daisy - (named by my daughter) rolleyes are 9months now and have always been outside in a large two storey hutch.
I keep them on newspaper, ecopet bed and hay. I got huge bales of hay from a local animal feed supplier and never had any problems with it.
They have a hay rack on the front of the door and it never seemed to get eaten from but I would replace it regardless assuming that they had so much hay in their hutch they must be eating some of it.
As they are coming indoors in a couple of weeks I didn't get another bale of hay when the last one rang out but just a small bag of meadow hay and then a small bag of the timothy hay with herbage.
I put the timothy hay in every morning and by the evening its gone. I then started to worry that they hadn't been eating enough hay!
They are happy healthy pigs so this sudden emptying of the hay rack is probably just because they like the new stuff and am hoping I am just being a worry wart!
