Hello quick question for 2 cavies what size of cage should you have (2 living in one cage) I am going to get 2 it is just a matter of when now :D :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :smitten: ::) I have a place in my house where size is not a issue so I want to be very careful of that thanks ;D

The minimum is 4 foot by 2 foot. I have all my boys in 4x2's but if you can provide bigger then cool! :)

my advice is the bigger the better because piggies are addictive. ;D

But a 4 by 2 is a good size for 2 xx

I had 6' x 2' for two piggies but as they got older i thought they needed more room, so we doubled it O0 by the time you get housing and food trays and bowls and water :o :o they need room to run around and bury themselves in the hay :smitten:
Good luck can't wait till i see your thread "GOT PIGGIES" :smitten:

glynis you have a 12ft cage :o :o :o duke lives in a palace :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: you make us feel so guilty when ours is only 4ft x 18 inches. am trying to get either 6ft cage or an extra 2 ft put on. duke you are a spoilt little man O0 :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

yep 4ft by 2 ft

mine is 6ft by 2 and a half ft for 2 piggies. more space the better!

I know I cannot wait to write that lol

I like the Pets at home Nero cages but would only put one guinea pig in the Nero 1 that is meant for 2 pigs I think. I bought the rabbit one - Nero 2 I think - when I was going to have two piggies living together but it didn't work out and they hated each other and started hissing, teeth chattering and squaring up to each other so I separated them fast. :o They have now started selling stands for the cages which I think is quite handy - got one the other week.

I have an old playhouse that my daughter has grown out of and find its ideal for the piggies to run round in and have some grass and it shelters them from the sun too.

I have a nero 3 deluxe and I'm going to buy a bigger one tbh i dont think its big enough i have 2 piggies living it in so I'm probably going to buy a nero 4, they have been in the nero 3 deluxe for a while now but my archie who is coming upto 1year old is getting quite big and likes to run about so i need something bigger for him as when i have toys in and 2 piggies it doesnt leave much space.

The smallest we will rehome to is a 5ft by 2ft with a separate run. With an attached 4ft square run we will accept a 4ft by 2ft hutch/cage. Piggies will use as much space as you give them, these really are minimum sizes, a whole shed or room or at least part of a room is bietter. Or go for a 4ft dog crate that can be made into a three layer piggie mansion. Or free range house pigs......

how big should a cage be for four guinea pigs to live in would a five foot two storyes be big enough ?

No. It's horizontal floor space that counts. Some pigs don't like to use ramps and 4 pigs would be very cramped if they were all on one level at one time. I go by the recommended dimensions on www.guineapigcages.com.

I currently have 2 pigs. The minimum size is 2 X 4, but I often wish it was just a little bigger to allow more room for potty area and food area. A bigger cage means your pigs will lay in their poo and pee less and be cleaner all the time.
