To cut the vegetables small or leave them in chunks? I usually leave the carrot or peppers in chunks. I thought it would help him wear down his teeth but I have seen loads of times on the internet of people cutting the carrots and things like that oh really tiny for thier guinea pigs. Which should I do? Which is better, safer etc or does it matter?

Oh and can they eat spinich?

I'd say leave them in chunks but not so big that they will choke. It does help wear down their teeth having to break the veggies down. Foods like celery you should cut smaller because guinea pigs are more vulnerable to choke on that.

Spinach is OK but it can cause kidney and bladder stones so feed in moderation. :)

I leave things in big chunks. Sometimes I even would give them a whole small carrot between the two or three of them. I don't really see the point in cutting them too small. I give them big leaves of lettuce too. My friend said not to because they don't hold onto their food like hamsters, but they manage it fine, and if it takes them longer to eat that's good for them.

I never really thought of them choking before, because I didn't think they'd swallow a big bit without chewing it . . . I do chop up celery though, heard that was good.
