Hi ppl I took my smudge to vets today and he has mange he was given a injection and some special shampoo I feel so guilty as he has always screamed when I pick him up from a baby I just nicked named him drama queen thinking that's just the way he is but now I know he in much discomfort bless him now I feel such a bad mum don't know what has caused his mange as all my piggies are indoors hopefully he be better soon I have to take him back in ten days for another injection and his play mate gizmo has to go along with him as the vet wants to check him but he looks fine .

Don't feel bad, mange mites are pretty common and it could be from the stress of them coming to you if you haven't had them that long (change of environment). Glad the vet gave an injection as it is more effective than spot on. What shampoo have they asked you to use? Did they advise you to leave at least 24 hours before bathing?

Iv had smudge a year now still feel bad though the vet gave me shampoo there had to leave it on for 10 min really rubbed it in he screamed all way through it then blow dryed him on cool heat he settled down now

The vet did the shampoo? Ideally there should be 24 hours after giving ivermectin before shampooing?

The vet put shampoo in bottle had to leave it on for 10 mins before washing off I have to do it weekly with this shampoo he gave me

Ok, am surprised he did that to be honest as it limits the effectiveness of the Ivermectin, but can't be sure as I don't know what he used.
