Am completely in shock as we had to rush our beautiful Candy Cane to the vets this morning as she was shutting down. She had only been with us a few months but we suspect she was quite elderly. She was bonded to our little Storm at the rescue as Storm was pining over the loss of her friend and Candy had arrived having lived on her own for a few years. They adored each other and would often sit grooming each other.

She was such a lovely gentle little pig and we soon fell in love.

Sleep tight beautiful. I'm so sorry we didn't have longer together. We will look after Storm for you and make sure she is not lonely.

I absolutely love abby guinea pigs. I'm on my 3rd abby and i have an american smooth i think she is
 
Helen, I am so sorry buddy, she was stunning, i wish you could have had more time together, but in the time you did have she would have had a wonderful life with you both and her friend Storm. I do hope Storm is doing okay, Huge hugs to you guys

Thanks everyone. Feeling incredibly sad today and am doing the usual what ifs. Storm is eating well and her usual naughty self. It was her that alerted us to Candy yesterday morning so am feeling very proud of her. We have a few options with our own pigs but there is also a possibility at a rescue of none of ours co-operate.

You did well the time Storm and you had together with Candy Cane.
