Senior Guinea Pig
Beautiful Luna left for the rainbow bridge yesterday, at almost 7 years old.
Luna came to us via the forum in October 2021 to live with us a retirement home. She was already a very senior lady then, and had clearly enjoyed a happy pampered life with her mummy @Roclibrarian !
We initially thought Luna mught be too frail to join our main herd, but she had other ideas! She fell in love with Theo instantly from across a playpen divider.
So at almost 6 years old she joined a gang of notorious scouse thugs, the PigglePuggle Wheeky Blinders herd!
She formed a "floof club" with Blodwen, where they would snuggle together and get their fur tangled up so they looked like just one giant piggy. They always went for bum baths and grooming time together at the weekend.
Luna outlived many of her new friends, poor old arthritic Clover who was a similar age, Piggle and Puggle gone too soon, as well as her sister Ginny who left for the rainbow bridge before we met Luna. But Luna was also determined to outlive her Christmas carrot cottage, and her last happy healthy morning was spent working very hard to make sure it was reduced to soggy cardboard scraps!
Sleep tight Luna. You were the most friendly, fuzzy, wheeky, feisty, pretty and completely mad little guinea pig I ever met. A huge character, you brightened up the whole herd, bossed them about, rattled waterbottles and wheeked night and day if you wanted anything from the hoomans- we will miss you so much, but glad you decided to go so quickly at the end we can remember all the happy days x
