Sleep tight Tofutti Cutie

Am sad to say that our little dwarf hamster Tofutti Cutie crossed the bridge tonight. He was 2 years old and had been getting more and more frail by the day but it was still a shock.

I found him at the bottom of his tube and feel awful that we weren't there for his last moments.

We got him as a baby and he was the cutest most gentle hamster you could wish for. As he got older he turned into a bit of a grumpy old git and decided to use our hands for biting practice but this just made us love him that little bit more.

Here are some pics and a video which was only a few weeks ago. As you can see his back legs had got really skinny.

I'm so sorry to hear about Tofutti. What a wonderful little hammie he was, and for one so small, he will certainly be missed. Have fun in that giant wheel at rainbow bridge little one.....

Thank you everyone, keep looking over at his empty cage but not in the mood to clean it out yet. Also being a bank holiday weekend we have had to put him in the freezer until we can get him to the vets to go to be cremated on Tuesday. I hated doing that 8...
 
No we wanted a vegan themed name and first thought of Tofutti which is a company that makes vegan cheese and ice cream and then we remembered that they make ice cream sandwiches called Tofutti Cuties and thought that was the perfect name.
