As some of you may have read in the health section, Herbie was taken ill suddenly last night with bloat. I rushed him to the out of hours emergency vet but despite their very best efforts he finally gave in and passed over to Rainbow Bridge at 12.30 this morning.

Herbie and his brother Curly were always my chunky rex boys, huge, scruffy, snuggleable, real little characters - I can't believe Herbs has had to leave us so soon, he would have been four in October.

It was obviously your time little man, thank you for some lovely memories, never a days illness in your short life until last night, sleep well gorgeous boy, we will all miss you dreadfully, particularly your brother Curly. Enjoy munching on some lovely grass and dandelions at RB and catching up with all your other little play mates, Ruby, Roxy, Tetley and Snowy .... until we meet again one day. God bless.xx
 
So sorry to hear about Herbie, how sudden and shocking. You always expect them to be around for longer... :(

I'm so sorry I missed his emergency. You did all you could, but bloat is a nasty thing.

I hope that handsome Herbie is happily munching away on the sweetest grass imaginable where he is now.

He was such a gorgeous boy, I'm so sorry you lost him Sandra, and so suddenly too.

Sleep well Handsome Herbie, I'm sure you're giving the other pigs at the RB a run for their money, including our boys! You will be missed.

I'm so sorry for your loss mabe him and marble can meet up at rainbow bridge so they both have some company together. RIP Herbie xx
 
I'm so sorry to hear about Herbie. He was a stunning boy. Its heartbreaking to lose a piggy so suddenly and my heart goes out to you. Run free at Rainbow Bridge little Herbie.

Thank you all so much for your wonderful words they mean a great deal to us all - it's so nice being able to share this sad time with people who know and understand what you are going through.

The shed seemed very strange this morning and whilst I was greeted by the rest of the gang, it didn't seem right to see Curly sitting waiting for me by himself.8... My gorgeous boy is now laid to rest, sleep well sweetheart.
