Junior Guinea Pig
Dibbler and Ganon are about 5 months old and I've had them for about 3 months now. They were very skittish and shy when I first got them, and always hid away to sleep and relax, usually just tucking their feet in and sleeping upright.
Now they're almost like completely different pigs. When I sit down at the cage to talk to them, Dibbler loses his mind popcorning (Ganon a little bit too, who's usually a loner and a grump). Moreso, they've taken to not just laying down out in the open instead of in their hideys, but they're fully stretching out on the fleece to relax/sleep.
They're still not entirely fond of being touched/picked up (though they do let me tickle their cheeks through the cage bars when they're begging for a treat). But I've noticed a LOT more activity/chirping/popcorning when I'm around the cage. I'm assuming this is a good sign, right? Is this my piggies' way of showing affection and that they trust me?
P.S. just because it's cute: I put an extra scrap of fleece in the cage so they have something to burrow under, and Dibbler's taken to bunching it up in the corner, hurling himself at it popcorn-style, and even rolling onto his back (think a dog rolling in the grass). I was afraid he'd hurt his spine at first, but he seems thrilled for the pillow.
