Ive just had Piglet out for some laptime and while he was on my chest I noticed what I can only describe as a bubbling popping sound, from what I assume is his nose occasionally (if anyone understands what I mean by that sound haha).

So I checked his nose and the right side is looking slightly crusty and from what I can see the left side is clear. I checked his eyes, again, right side slightly crusty left side, clear. His mouth seems clear too.

He's completely fine in himself, eating, drinking, shouting at me when I'm late with the veggies ect.

With it being half 1 in the morning, it was hard to get pictures, but I'll upload some first thing when I wake up.

Should I take him for a vet check? Or can the occasional bit of crust be normal? It's not a huge amount as of now, but I know how quickly our furry babies can go down hill.

Also, something I've never noticed before... When checking his eyes, I noticed his right eye has.. Dents....
Left is perfectly fine.
Is this normal? Is it okay? Should I be worried or have it checked? I've never come across this before:hmm:
(You can also slightly see some of the crust in the picture too)

Thankyou :)

I would take him to the vet asap. My pig had the same symptoms as yours but was still acting normal, and passed away just days after noticing. My vet told me when I called the first time that if he was still acting normal to just keep my eye on him. However, he acted normal up until the very last few hours. Not to scare you, but I would take him in as soon as you can. Better to be safe than sorry.

If in doubt, please have your piggy checked by a vet for signs of URI (respiratory tract infection). Better safe than sorry in that respect!

The dents in the eye hint at non-ulcerated surface scratches that have already partially healed.

Definite vets check there Abbie, sending Piglet lots of love and vibes. Please keep us in the loop x

Really hope all goes ok at the vets. My Mabel has similar dents in her eye and the vet on Saturday said it was an old wound that had healed.
