I am a fairly new guinea pig owner of 2(Dwight and kevin), and they smell horribly, i love them so much but I need something to help with the smell.

Hi, i would recommend spot cleaning their cage daily by scooping out soiled bedding and replacing it with new bedding. If you use fleece, either replace daily or use puppy pads underneath. The only smell you should smell is their pee so not having pee sitting around but the cage for long should eliminate the smell. Otherwise, go to the vet as they shouldn’t smell bad apart from the pee

If you have a friend with guinea-pig experience you could invite them round for a sniff (Covid restrictions permitting?) and see if they think the smell is unusually pongy. My boars smelled stronger than sows but it was mainly the urine breaking down to ammonia and they did pee a lot! The poop didn't smell at all. At the time we used shavings which have their own smell - not unpleasant but strong for indoors and I found that the scent of the shavings seemed to carry the pee smell further! Either that or it was just too many smells at once. We spot cleaned, but ended up changing to a different bedding and things got more manageable ☺

With boars, the more you clean the more they will smell so don’t replace bedding daily with boars. If you do this they will scent mark each and every time as it’ll be worse.
also, check whst bedding you are using as some isn’t as good as others. Plus check their cage is big enough - two boars need 180cm x 60cm for the sake of their bond but also keeping them in A cage which is smaller can cause the extra smell.
you should not smell strong pee, you should only be able to smell the sweet smell of hay.
